Ed Barreveld has been making films since he joined Canada 's Oscar-winning documentary studio, the National Film Board of Canada, more than two decades ago.  Following several years line producing independent documentaries for broadcasters such as CBC, BBC, A&E, and TVAsahi, Barreveld co-founded Storyline Entertainment and produced its first film, the award winning Aftermath: The Remnants Of War.  Since 2003 he has been the company's sole manager. His latest documentaries The Real MASH aired on History Television in 2010 and The Market premiered at IDFA 2010.  

Other producing highlights include Shipbreakers (Gemini Award for Best Cinematography), Bruce & Me,  and Tiger Spirit (2009 Gemini Award Best Documentary). For release in 2011, Barreveld is producing My Life as a Lone Twin (a Belgium/Canada coproduction), The World Before Her, The Real Sherlock Holmes and The Real Inglourious Basterds.  He is also developing Slum of Millionaires,a cross platform project and documentary.

Though spending more time behind a spreadsheet than the camera these days, he still manages to spend time in the field, doing what he likes best; working with documentary crews.  Barreveld has traveled the world on his films, working in such places as India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Israel, Tunisia, France, Germany, Russia, Bosnia, Vietnam, Australia, across Canada and the US.
